Maria Kassabian (10), NIGERIA
“In my painting I was trying to portray two options of alternative energy: Solar and wind.The gas emitted from cars and factories is polluting the air and causing global warming. The solution is not to rely on gas anymore and to encourage the use of wind and solar energy. My dream is to save our very precious planet because we have nowhere else to go to. I pray that our present leaders realize the adverse effects and take wise decisions and crucial measures immediately, to save our planet.”

A huge tree is divided up like an apartment block. The inhabitants can be seen taking a shower instead of a bath, saving electricity, etc. Outside the tree, animals and people are enjoying nature, but urban dwellers are suffering from air pollution

A globe is divided up into sections showing people being taught about the environment, planting gardens, filling up with biofuel and using wind energy. Others can be seen riding round the circumference of the Earth in solar-powered cars or by bike
