Guided tours and demonstrations
Sugar can be used to illustrate all kinds of topics: nutrition and biology, renewable resources, and the history of slavery, colonialisation and industrialisation, for example.
We would be pleased to arrange a tour tailored to your specific needs – for ages from 5 upwards. Please call us during our opening hours to make arrangements about two weeks in advance:
++49 (0)30 / 314 275 74.
A German-language tour costs €20, an English-language tour €30.
Tours last about 45–60 minutes. The maximum size of group is 30.
On Sundays and public holidays we normally offer a free guided tour at 11:30am and a demonstration of sugar art at 2:30pm.
These services depend on the staffing situation, so please inquire in advance on the day.
For information on other events such as art projects for kids or courses in sugar art please call ++49 (0)30 /314 275-72 or -74.
Photography and filming
Hand-held photography and video for personal, non-commercial use is permitted on the premises and in the grounds of the Stiftung Deutsches Technikmuseum Berlin, as long as flash, lighting and tripods are not used.
For other purposes please apply in writing – well in advance – to info@sdtb.de.
Barrier-free access
We endeavour to make all our exhibitions and other services accessible to all visitors. The museum is accessible to wheelchairs.
The exhibition area is on the third floor and can be accessed by lift if required. Please ask the museum staff for assistance.
For information please call us: ++49 (0)30 / 314 275 72
Please note the dimensions of the lift: depth 114 cm, width 93 cm. If required, the museum can provide a wheelchair that fits into the lift.
There is a disabled persons’ toilet on the ground floor, which is also accessible by lift.
Two parking spaces are reserved for disabled persons in the courtyard.
