Nothing is as it appears!
With our senses we are able to detect certain stimuli in our surroundings. But most go unnoticed, for example large parts of the electromagnetic spectrum. So the “picture” our brains make of our surroundings remains limited – and the world we experience with our senses is not identical with the physical world. If we had different or additional senses the world would look very different.
A journey of discovery into the physiology and psychology of perception
The special thing about the phenomena and experiments in this section is that most of them have little or nothing to do with the laws of physics. Instead, they are based on physiological or psychological processes associated with perception.
