Events: Education

Education for all is our motto – wherever you come from and however much (or little) you already know about science and technology.
And of course we offer a special welcome to the many families, groups and school classes who visit our museum.

Exhibit of the Month: Kozo, Gampi and Mitsumata, 1987

Photo: The picture shows three brown sacks that are filled with the dried fibres of the plants Kozo, Gampi and Mitsumata, each with different grey-brown hues.

Well-travelled and rare in Europe - the plant raw materials for "Washi", traditional handmade Japanese papers.

Photo Exhibition: Technology for Hitler's Olympics

Photo: A view of the upper tier of the Olympic Stadium. Resembling a street light, the loudspeaker is positioned above an entrance in the centre of the image. Behind it we see a closed structure made of stone, with windows pointing toward the field.

The 1936 Olympics as a testing ground for new media: For the first time there are live reports by radio and even by television.

Museum Park: Between nature and technology

The large museum park – containing two windmills, a water mill, a smithy and a brewery – is home to a great variety of trees and plant life. Visitors can enjoy exciting exhibitions and relax outside amongst the greenery.
