Welcome to the website of the Sugar-Museum

What to see online: Exhibitions

The Sugar Museum in Berlin-Wedding told the story of sugar – where it comes from, how it is made. Quite simply: nearly everything about sugar.

On our website you may continue to inform yourself about the history of the house and of sugar – a commonplace substance with an extraordinary history.

New exhibition: Sugars and Beyond!

Collage: Elementary sugar topics - the left half of a sugar beet with leaves, claws of a Japanese spider crab, the right half of a wooden violin body, sugar cane stems, a measuring instrument and the portrait of the "father of the sugar beet", Franz Carl Archard.

Here you can find new perspectives of the sweetener besides its history like energy supplier, construction material and information medium.

Since November 2015 - New Building

Exhibit of the Month: Empty moulted shell of a lobster

Photo: The head of the lobsters molt shell: It mainly consists of chitin.
